At Dance Mistress, every product is created with care and attention to detail. We want you to love your purchase, and we are committed to providing fair and transparent outcomes when things do not go as planned.
This Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy operates in conjunction with your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Change of Mind Returns
If you change your mind about your purchase, you must contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
If your return request is approved, the item must be posted within 7 days of approval.
To be eligible for a change-of-mind return, all of the following conditions must be met:
- The item must be unused and unworn.
- The item must be free from perfumes, deodorants, makeup, body odour, washing detergent, pet hair and other signs of use.
- All original tags must remain attached.
- The item must be returned in its original packaging.
- Proof of purchase must be provided.
- For footwear returns, customers may be required to provide clear photographs of the item prior to approval.
Dance Mistress reserves the right to refuse returns that do not meet these requirements.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Custom-Made, Personalised & Made-to-Order Items
Due to the personalised nature of these products, custom-made, personalised, altered or made-to-order items cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded for:
- Change of mind
- Incorrect size selected by the customer
- Customer preference changes
- Competition cancellation
- Minor variations in colour, finish, materials or embellishment placement
This includes custom-fit boots, customised costumes, personalised garments and special-order products.
Nothing in this section excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Sizing Responsibility
Customers are responsible for carefully reviewing size charts, product descriptions and sizing guidance before placing an order.
Where custom measurements are requested, customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements.
Dance Mistress is not responsible for fit issues resulting from:
- Incorrect measurements supplied by customers
- Incorrect size selections made by customers
- Changes in body measurements after ordering
- Personal fit preferences not communicated prior to production
If you are unsure about sizing, we encourage you to contact us before placing your order.
Exchanges
We understand that sizing can occasionally be difficult when purchasing online.
Where stock availability permits, we may offer exchanges for a different size.
Exchange requests must be submitted within 14 days of delivery.
Customers are responsible for all return and replacement shipping costs unless the item is determined to have a manufacturing fault.
Exchange approval is subject to inspection of the returned item.
Faulty or Defective Products
If you believe your item has a manufacturing fault, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs showing the fault
Once assessed, Dance Mistress may choose to:
- Repair the item
- Replace the item
- Provide a refund
- Offer another remedy as required under Australian Consumer Law
Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, improper care or damage caused during use are not considered manufacturing faults.
Refunds
Once a returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether your refund request has been approved.
If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method.
Please allow approximately 5–10 business days for financial institutions to process the refund.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law.
Sale, Sample & Clearance Items
All sale items, clearance items, sample items and discontinued products are final sale.
These items cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded unless required by Australian Consumer Law.
Events, Pop-Up Stores & In-Person Sales
Products purchased at pop-up stores, competitions, expos, performances or other in-person events are considered final sale.
Please carefully inspect items prior to purchase.
Nothing in this section excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
International Orders
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees or local government charges imposed by their country.
Dance Mistress is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing, import inspections or international courier services.
Refused international shipments may be subject to return shipping charges, customs fees and administrative costs, which may be deducted from any refund where permitted by law.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return relates to a verified manufacturing fault or another circumstance where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service.
Dance Mistress is not responsible for returned parcels lost, damaged or delayed during transit.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
Where a product has a major failure, you may be entitled to a replacement, repair or refund as provided by law.
